About the tour
The Benedictine abbey in Tyniec is the oldest in Kraków, and the Benedictines are the oldest order in Poland. Prince Casimir the Restorer brought them here in the 11th century and gave them land on the rock where the monastery still stands. On this Tyniec Abbey tour you’ll hear how it was founded and what role the order has played.
We ride out along the Vistula boulevards and through Zwierzyniec, once an independent settlement with a pagan temple. On the way back we follow the opposite bank and stop for lunch, with an excellent apple pie and time to rest in a hammock or on a sun lounger.
