About the tour
Kraków was once the capital of Poland, and for some it still is. On this Kraków Old Town tour you walk or ride through the cradle of Polish tradition: medieval buildings, the remains of the city walls, the first churches and the seat of the Kraków Academy.
The Main Market Square has seen it all. Merchants traded here, kings held congresses and oaths were sworn before battle. It was also a place of trials and executions, which in the Middle Ages counted as a kind of entertainment. Along the way you’ll find the oldest street in Kraków, with finds from the 11th century, a refuge from the Mongol invasions of the 13th century, and the masterpiece of a 15th-century artist from Nuremberg. Today all this history, full of legends, lives side by side with Christmas markets, festivals and street events.
The icing on the cake is Wawel Hill, with the Royal Castle and the Cathedral, the mother of Polish churches, where kings were crowned, married and buried. Your licensed guide shows you the must-see places of the Old Town, and a few that are not always open to the public.

Questions & answers
Both, and in two versions: the Royal Route takes about 2.5 hours, and with the visit to Wawel Cathedral and St Mary’s Basilica about 3 hours. On foot and by bike the tour takes about the same time. If you don’t have a bike, you can rent one for the tour. By bike one guide takes up to 14 people; larger groups are possible with additional guides.
That depends on the option you choose. The Royal Route takes you to Wawel Hill and the courtyard of the Royal Castle, and your guide tells the story of the Cathedral and the Basilica from the outside. Choose “Royal Route, with Cathedral and Basilica visits” to go inside both: the tour then takes about 3 hours, and the entrance tickets (regular or reduced) are paid on the day.
Yes. The Old Town is full of legends, like the story of the Wawel Dragon, and we adapt the pace and the stories to your children.
A licensed Kraków guide, in English or Polish. The price is for your whole group, not per person. Paid on the day: bike rental if you need a bike, and the tickets for the Cathedral and the Basilica on the option that visits them.
