About the tour

A wooden village on the hill

Lanckorona makes a perfect day tour from Kraków, with the transfer there and back included. This village of original wooden houses from the second half of the 19th century lies in lands that King Casimir the Great loved for their rich hunting grounds.

On this walking tour your licensed guide leads you through the hilly village and its surroundings. In Lanckorona itself stand the ruins of a Gothic castle whose walls remember the 18th-century struggles for a free Poland. We stop at the market square with its charming houses and enjoy local food and crafts.

Along the way: breathtaking views, modest churches and chapels, and many roadside shrines on the trail to one of Poland’s oldest sanctuaries.
